At the moment we are particularly looking for Transcribers and/or Coordinators from FreeBMD and FreeREG.
Contribution takes the form of membership of an email list, with quarterly video meetings/conference calls and one optional face to face meeting in a year. The quarterly online meetings are held alternately on Monday / Thursday evenings, at 8pm GMT in order to facilitate our members in the southern hemisphere.
Regular attendance to online meetings is appreciated but we understand that time constraints may prevent this, so we would encourage attendance to one per year in order to keep up with where we are heading.
In addition to these meetings, we appreciate the input of those who can provide one-to-one advice in a specialist area by email.
The group consists of people with experience of each of our projects and with backgrounds in the following areas:
- Volunteer Management
- Museums and Heritage
- Archives / Records Offices
- Academic research using public records of family history
- Law relating to Intellectual Property, Data Protection, and related areas
- Charity Law
- Open Data
- Charity Accounting
- Web Design
- Online Transcription
